ARTISTIC CONTENT
Neon Displays
Neon display is allowed but requires special provisions. It is therefore crucial that should you wish to display neon, you follow the guidelines set out below:
- The electrical circuit that supplies electricity to the Neon exhibit must be on a separate circuit.
- The neon exhibit cannot be connected to the electrical supply through a plug and socket arrangement.
- The neon exhibit must be fitted by a PICO electrician.
- The neon exhibit needs to have a fire extinguisher near it.
Please contact your PICO representative if you wish to have a neon display on your stand.
Objects obstructing aisles
If you have artwork hanging on the aisle side of your stand, please ensure that it does not exceed 15cm deep.
Sound
Music is prohibited unless it is part of an artwork display. Please inform Rosie Lamb directly on email, rosie@artcentralhongkong if you have any artwork with sound.
Moving Objects
If you intend to bring artwork which moves, please inform Rosie Lamb rosie@artcentralhongkong.com and provide details of the range of movement and position of the piece on your stand.
Artistic Content
There will be a considerable number of young people among the visitors, so we ask galleries to ensure that the artworks on display will not be unduly shocking, disturbing or objectionable to the reasonable visitor.
Exhibitors must familiarize themselves with the provisions in the Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance, Chapter 390 of the Laws of Hong Kong, in particular those which:
- Prohibit the publication and possession of obscene articles;
- Regulate the publication of indecent articles; and
- Prohibit the public display of indecent objects.
Exhibitors must ensure that their artworks on display are not in any waylibelousor otherwise defamatory or discriminatory on any person.
Exhibitors must familiarise themselves with the provisions of the Prevention of Child Pornography Ordinance, Chapter 579 of the Laws of Hong Kong, and refrain from displaying any works which may constitute child pornography.
Violations of the Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance or the Prevention of Child Pornography Ordinance constitute serious criminal offences hence may lead to criminal prosecutions.
Organisers of Art Central do not permit the display of obscene, indecent,defamatory or discriminatory items and reserve the right to require their beingremoved from Art Central. In any event, each Exhibitor agrees to indemnify and keep indemnified the Organisers of the art Fair against all loss, damage, expenses and costs (on a full indemnity basis with or without litigation) which may result from the adverse legal consequences of the display of any item by the Exhibitors
