ART CENTRAL DESIGN GUIDELINES

Guidelines have been put in place to ensure that booths are erected safely for both structural and design purposes.

PICO will be able to advice you on these guidelines when you submit your individual stand Plan.

  • STAND SIGNAGE IS LIMITED TO SIGNAGE PROVIDED BY THE ORGANISERS
  • VINYL LETTERING OR OTHER FORMS OF ADDITIONAL STAND SIGNAGE ARE NOT PERMITTED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
  1. Gallery Name / Logo
  2. Artist Names
  • Each exhibitor is responsible for the stability of their stand walls, including perimeter walls
  • If you intend to present heavy installations which are over 20kg, please inform your PICO representative when you submit your stand plan.
  • Please ensure your stand is professionally presentable at all times. From a case by case point of view, galleries of under 60sqm are not to obstruct 50% of frontage and galleries 60 sqm and above to ensure at least 30% frontage is open. In general, to improve the flow of traffic through the venue and enhance the visitor experience, we encourage you to design your stand to be as open as possible. This is particularly true for corner stands.
  • Organisers will need to approve all stand designs
  • It is not possible to paint your own stand. For painting requests, please contact your PICO representative and it will be approved by the organisers.
  • Please note that PICO will refer to Art Central in regard to the painting of walls, the final decision to whether your colour choice will be allowed will be determined by Art Central.
  • No slanted walls.
  • All wall text are limited in black and white, with font size not larger than 14 point.
  • Exhibitors are required to source cord covers for any exposed artwork cords running down walls and should run on the floor until the plug or until out of exhibition view.

Art Central Floor:

The HKCEC has a grey concrete floor.

Truss:

Truss may be hired from PICO to hang lighting or sculptures subject to weight restrictions. In order to maintain consistency, Art Central will standardize the height of the truss that is to be hung above your stand. Trusses will be hung from the ceiling at 1m above the wall panels and also within the stand order. Trusses may not be hung in the aisles. To order trusses to hang lights or artworks, please contact PICO.

Rigging:

Some works may require rigging. If so, please send detailed information about the pieces and where you would like it rigged on your stand plans to your PICO representative who will be able to assist you.
